Hello

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

This is me summer 2021 at Crater Lake in Oregon...I was really feeling myself that day.

Hey, I'm Ginny Kappel and I'm so glad you're looking at my page.  I worked hard on it and it's definitely a labor of love.  I'll tell you all about my services on another page.  This is just for you to see if there's part of you that thinks you'll vibe with my energy and style of coaching.

The first thing I feel inclined to tell you about is that I'm a "boymom."  My boys keep me busy, laughing, changing, and learning every single day.  My husband and I have created a wholesome little family, but we have worked hard to get here.  Hard work is definitely the essence of any struggle you may face in the future.  Hardships in life such as: major life changes (i.e. job change, moving, etc.), parenting, grief, anxiety, disappointments, unhealthy family dynamics, etc., have paved the way for me to be in this position of helping others.

One of the most challenging times in my life was during the good ole' teen years.  Well...because of that, I think I make a pretty relatable coach for teen girls. I dealt with major anxiety-generalized and social, but as a teen, I was NEVER diagnosed, which means I was never properly treated.  This girl had to figure so much out on her own, and I'm truly better today because of it.  If you want to know more about my teen years of anxiety, I'll totally share it with you when we meet, just ask.

Ok, another really challenging time for me was...well, NOW, because parenting is HARD.  Luckily, my education, trainings, and experience have given me so much knowledge that I get to use it in real time with my own children.  I hope I can help you on your parenting journey as well.

When I'm not working with clients, I'm probably doing house chores, putting out sibling-rivalry fires, or working on my business.  Haha, I wish I was kidding about the first two, but it's true!  Aside from that, I make special time to be with my friends, vacation regularly, and spend time with my family.  Shopping at Target, solo drives and alone time are sometimes my regular versions of self-care.  I also work with healing professionals to care for my mental & physical well-being.  Working with clients isn't just a "passion" of mine, but a way of life, part of my identity &what I was called to do.

I'm not great about always posting on social media, but I enjoy it from time to time.  Feel free to click and follow me/my business on any of these platforms below.

My Professional Story

Why I'm Qualified to Work With You

  • Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

  • Professional counseling license in state of Missouri

  • Approximately 1 bijillion hours of post-graduate work ;)

  • Life Coaching offers more opportunity to serve people anywhere, plus I get to work with the people that I want to work with

  • I also offer mental health therapy services via online

THE BULLET POINTS:

I have a Master's in Professional Mental Health Counseling, followed by MO state license or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor).  It's been a long road to get here, but wow, I'm...here!  After learning all I could under supervision, working with clients, networking with other clinicians, I decided I wanted to steer my business into the field of Life Coaching.  Let me tell you why...

You and I will have freedom to work at a pace that works best for us.  Insurance companies can sometimes dictate frequency and length of treatment time.  Many therapists work with assessing a specific diagnosis.  My type of treatment with clients doesn't necessarily involve diagnosing or assessing for mental health disorders.  In order to practice therapy, one must uphold a license in that state.  If you are outside of Missouri, I will assess if coaching is the best option for you. If you are in Missouri, we have the option for coaching or therapy.

The master's in counseling program was offered online, so I was able to move from St. Louis to Florida (where I lived for 2 years), finish my classes and complete a year long internship at a local counseling center. Once I graduated, I started a small online Life Coaching business then moved back to St. Louis.  Once there, I worked at an office in-person (even amidst the COVID times) where I was able to complete my last obstacle, a 2-year provisional license.  I completed 3000+ clinical hours of working with clients, attending networking events, continuing education, and learned a lot about myself as a professional.  .

Which brings me to today-a Mental Health Counselor and Wellness Coach...it's a leap of faith but I'm so excited!  Down to Earth Coaching, LLC. is an online business located in St. Louis, MO.  Coaching services are offered to anyone (that is a fit) in the United States.  Those clients that are local, will have the option to meet in person upon request.
